Tamalika in radio drama after 30 years

Pns: After long 30 years, actress Tamalika Karmakar has acted for a Bangladesh Betar drama serial titled ‘Reba O Tar Biral’. Scripted by Dhaka University professor Tariq Manzoor, the drama has been produced by Syeda Farida Ferdousi. Tamalika Karmakar participated in recording of the drama serial consisting 56 episodes, last week.

Tamalika started acting at the age of 3. She secured best award in recitation, acting and dance category in ‘Notun Kuri’ in 1978 and 1980. From then, she is passing busy time with her acting on small screen, theatre and film. She acted in Bangladesh Betar 30 years back.

She has been associated with the theater group Aranyak Nattaydal since January 1992. She debuted in the theater play ‘Pathor’, written and produced by Mamunur Rashid and Azizul Hakim. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film 'Kittonkhola' in 2000.

Tamalika Karmakar said about her acting in Betar, “I became very emotional while I was acting for the radio drama serial after three decades later, because there were many childhood memories on my mind. I am grateful to them who give me the chance to act in Betar. Doing any work for Betar, really I am very happy. I will request my audience to listen to the radio play.”

Producer Syeda Farida informed that the play would be played from next month in Bangladesh Betar in every Saturday at 9:45am and also in 106 FM.
