PNS: The probable date for next Biswa Ijtema has been fixed on January 12, 2018.

Both local and foreign organizers of the second largest Muslim congregation in the world sat for a meeting over the matter on Thursday and fixed the date.

Mohammad Gias Uddin, a senior member of the organizing committee, has confirmed the matter to the media.

Like the previous years, the next Ijtema will also be held in two phases with the first phase beginning on January 12 and ending on January 14.

Then after a four day break, the second phase will begin on January 19 and end on January 21.

In the meeting, the date for the ‘Jor Ijtema’ was also fixed.

Usually, the ‘Jor Ijtema’ is held at least 40 days before the Biswa Ijtema.

So, November 17, 2017 has been fixed for the next date on the five-day ‘Jor Ijtema’

Tablighi Jamaat has been organising the Biswa Ijtema, also called the World Muslims’ Congregation, every year since 1946.

Ijtema is being held in two phases from 2012 to ease accommodation problem.

The three-day congregation includes delivering boyans (sermons) on the fundamental issues of Tablighi Jamaat, prayer for the spiritual, exaltation and welfare of the Muslim Ummah and recitation from the holy Quran and Hadith.
