Pns: Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Annisul Huq, who is currently under treatment in London, has been shifted to the ICU again on Tuesday.

The DNCC mayor has been taken to the ICU due to some infections in blood, according to his family.

“Due to infection, Annisul has been shifted to the ICU again,” Rubana Huq, wife of the mayor informed reporters from London.

After suddenly falling ill back in August 4, Annisul Huq was kept in the ICU of a London hospital.

DNCC had issued a circular back in October 31, saying that the mayor had been shifted to the rehabilitation center as his condition had improved.

After around 1 month, the 65-year old Annisul has been taken to the ICU again.

Annisul Huq along with his family had travelled to London on July 29 to celebrate the birth of his grandchild. But the mayor fell sick while in London.

He was taken to a hospital on August 4 as he was not feeling very well and he lost consciousness while the doctors were running tests. Later, tests revealed that he had cerebral vasculitis as blood flow to his brain was clogged.

Amid fake news reports regarding the mayor’s health, the city corporation issued a circular on October 31 to inform people that his health was improving.

Rubana Huq also posted on her social media handles saying that most news circulating about her husband were just rumours.

RMG businessman Annisul was elected mayor of Dhaka North on 2015 after he contested in the polls being nominated by ruling Awami League.

He was the FBCCI president during the military-led interim government and previously he was the president of BGMEA as well.
